I think
Curriculum Based Measurement system is very beneficial; it is an excellent tool
to measure students learning. I can see the benefits for teachers and parents
at the same time. It would be very helpful to test students’ progress weekly
but I think that teachers would need to take one day of the week to test every
single student specially if they are secondary students. It would take a great amount
of time doing this. I would say an average class of 20 students in each hour period,
which would be 120 students that I would need to test every week, plus I would
have to enter all the scores in the system.
It is a time
consuming system but it is something that would work for teachers’ parents and
students because it is something visual were students can actually see their
progress of their learning and can be motivated for them. Also, would be nice
for the teacher to keep track of what she/he have being teaching and it could
help them to do some teaching adjustments to their lessons.
It is a
tool that I would definitive I would use to keep track of my students learning and
progress.
