Classroom Observation
First Week
When I was doing my teacher assisting at Union High School, most of the time was pended on trying to get the students to do their work. Sometimes the students only came to class to sleep because most of them had a full time job and worked the whole night. Union High is an urban school and most of the students live in a challenging neighborhood. Most of students' parents have two jobs and students have too look up for themselves most of the time. I spend most of my time there telling them to do their work and helping others with directions. Most of the times, the teacher had prepared an awesome lesson plan but unfortunately he could not teach it. Instead he would give them work sheets and I would go around and helping the students with their work, which was waist of time because students had very little interest on learning.
There was also a time, when students could volunteer to share some of their good news. At this time students would spend from 5 minutes to 20 and sometimes half of the class hour talking about themselves. Students were allow to share their stories with every detail, which was what it used to take most of the class time. The teacher point of view was that when students share their stories the rest of the class was on listening mode and that it was good because students would listen better to the teacher when that happen.
My teacher always mention that it would be nice if he could teach all the students on his class at the same time instead of walking around and giving directions to one on one. He also mention that he would like to teach his lesson plans instead of just giving out work sheets. Another thing is that every day most of the students were behind on some of their work because some of them have missed classes. The teachers had to be carefully on the way he was teaching because many students missed class and not all of them had the same knowledge. That was another thing that my teacher always wanted to to, just teach the way he wanted to.
I attended to some of the teachers meetings and on my opinion, they where kinda waist of time. The meeting was about the way how teachers should teach and what they should take into consideration while teaching. Things that are so obvious to teachers. They told teachers, for example; "when students are misbehaving you need to go over classroom expectations" and "when students do not listen you need to write them up and call their parents". Or they would teach teachers on how to become more involved with students another example;" If you see a student not looking the same you need to talk to the an find out what they have". Thins like this are just make since to do them, this is why I think this kind of meeting are waist of time. I do support meeting where teachers need to be inform about new rules, teach a new strategy and other things that teachers need to improved their teaching.

National organization
One of the National organization that I am using is ACTFL. This organization is very helpful because it always bring out the latest on education. Teachers can share ideas and we all can talk as a community. The member ship is not free. My membership total is $49 per year.
The basic membership is $ 29.00, but I decided to add, Film $5.00, Heritage $5.00, SNS $0.00, Teacher $5.00, Culture $5.00. With this membership I get asses to the latest magazines, brochures, books, videos, films, and new ideas on teaching a foreign language. organization offer many helpful information in many different ways. FCTL uses many social medias such as Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTub, TalkRadio, and Facebook. This Social Medias are the most popular for ACTFL. ACTFL, also holds conferences. Yes, they are always having conferences, but they are very expensive. An example; the Convention and World world Language Expo at San Diego Center in San Diego California on October 28, 2015. the cost was $155.
State Level Educators
One of our state level education is Michigan Department of Education. There is no fee for being part of this organization. Michigan Department of Education is a great resource of information for teachers and the schools in general. offers information from the state curriculum to food and nutrients. Also, has information about grants, health, careers and college, news and publication, parent engagement and also library. They offer posters, folders, and brochures but a form needs to be filled first. There is a Library associated with Michigan Department of Education, where we can find many educational information. The organization offers conferences for free, low cost and at charge of 95 dollars per day. All depends what kind of the conference will be provided. As Early child special education most of them are free, and Culture of reading program. What I think was interesting and very helpful is that the organization even provides information about what it takes to become a teacher of any subject.
Here are the social media that the organization uses: Facebook, Twitter, YouTub, and Emails

How I would use a blog tool to on my future classroom? Well, I do not have any experiences on using technology, but I think this tool is very helpful. At the beginning when I was asked to open a blog account I had no idea how was going to work. Now that I have being following the instructions of my technology professor is becoming fun and helpful. Now I am curious what is coming next. To be onest, on my future class I will use a blog with my students too. It would be very helpful to communicate, share work, answers, videos, also I could share other information about our lessons activities. First I would have to guide the students on how to open a blog if they do not know yet, than basically do same thing that I am doing with my technology teacher. It is awesome that I can share videos right from you-tub if I want them to watch an specific video. I also can create a schedule for everyone can stay on track of everything. The most important for the use of a blog is to share work, answer questions, students get to comment on posts freely with out feeling shy, and also I can post students fun activities for them to share with their families. all this info will be locked; teacher and students can get accesses to it only.

About Me
Helo, My name is Josefina Guillen Nunez. I am originally from Guanajuato, Mexico, but I have been living here for 10 years. Guanajuato is a famous state because of Las Momias. When I got here to the United States, I did not know not eve one word in English. I have been working very hard to to learn the language. My parents are still in Mexico and a sister and the rest of my brothers are here. I have nine brothers total including me. When I arrived here I wanted to go to college to finish a profession but It was difficult because of the language. I started going to college to become an elementary school teacher, but then I decided to become a Spanish teacher. I think teaching Spanish in high school is very fun. My degree is on Spanish in Education and my minor is on Psychology.
My Hobbies
On my time off I like to work out at the gym and on Saturdays I love to go and dance with my husband at a night clubs. when I meet my husband he did not know how to dance at all so we decided to take some dancing lesson together. We took at least 20 lessons and now we really enjoy out time dancing; well, we are not professionals but we have lot of fun. Also, I like to watch Telenovelas at home, and read interesting articles on line.
Technology at Work
My experience on using technology at work it can my my teaching very helpful, successful, but also can be such of pain when something goes wrong and I have no idea on how to fix the problem. An example, on Friday 15 I had plan to watch a video with the students learn about the subject that I was going to teach. Unfortunately, the Elmo was not working so i could not show the video. I had to think about something else to teach on that such of short time. I have become to the conclusion that I always have to be prepare with lessons plans just an case technology fails.
This photo is from Moroleon, Guanajuato. Here I spend lot of time with some of my friends when I was living in Mexico. There are so many memories in there.
My School
I did my Teachers Assisting with Grand Rapids Public Schools at Union High and now I am long term subbing at Westwood Middle School
